Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information SetCrowd ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and what rights you have over your data. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: email address, username, optional country and avatar.
  • Activity data: predictions you make, points earned, league memberships.
  • Authentication data: session tokens issued by our auth provider; if you sign in with Google, we also receive your basic Google profile.
  • Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and debugging.

2. How we use your data

  • Provide the Service: authenticate you, save your predictions, calculate points, and rank you on leaderboards.
  • Communicate with you about account, security, or service updates.
  • Detect abuse and protect the integrity of the leaderboards.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not run third-party advertising trackers without your consent.

3. Legal basis (GDPR)

  • Contract: we need your account data to provide the Service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interest: security logging, abuse prevention, and improving the platform.
  • Consent: any optional features (e.g. email notifications, analytics cookies) ask for explicit opt-in.

4. Data sharing

We share data only with infrastructure providers needed to run the Service (hosting, database, authentication, email delivery), all bound by data-processing agreements. Public profile data (username, country flag, points) is visible to other users on leaderboards and league pages.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, predictions, league memberships, and authentication record are permanently removed within a few days. Aggregated, non-identifying statistics may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR and similar laws you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data — most fields are editable in your profile.
  • Delete your account and associated data — available from your profile page.
  • Withdraw consent for optional processing at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies / local storage entries — see the Cookie Policy for details.

8. Minors

The Service is restricted to users aged 18 or older (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) and is not directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account and associated data.
